Wilkerson's Family Restaurant & Dock, the Marina & Riverboat Casino. We also loved renting a Golf Cart to travel about the shoreline. We did visit the Masonic Lodge & Eastern Star Chapter.

What I didn't like |
|
The area is rural & very typical of a small beach area. While the area seems small & cramped, the people & the fun activities make it a wonderful vacation opportunity.

What I recommend |
|
There are several quaint Inns along the beach area & rental homes w/a view of the water & sandy beaches just across the small road that separates the houses from the beach. Not much traffic is also a bonus. Festivals occur regularly & celebrate everything imaginable. There's even several Golf Cart Events.

Wilkerson's Seafood Restaurant is located on the main road into Colonial Beach & boasts a beautiful water view w/dock, along w/outstanding seafood & local "catch" lunch & dinner choices. The Fried Oysters, Rockfish (in season), Crab Cakes & Crab Legs are wonderfully flavorful & perfectly prepared. The abundant hushpuppies are hot, crisp, tender & impossible to resist. The staff is courteous, prompt & polite. Ask about the daily specials - most are not on the menu. The Lunch choices are under $10 per person & the Dinner prices run $15-24 per person. Be sure to take advantage of the very reasonable Buffet during the weekend. W/tons of choices, hot, fresh & always fresh.
